Editor, The Cheshire Herald:
Many people interrupted their education for a variety of reasons after high school. Starting again seems daunting, but it is not as hard as people think. Whether they began taking courses earlier and stopped or never began the process, now is the time to prepare to take a course or two in the spring. It is easy to do so. Friendly and knowledgeable advisors at schools are waiting to help you. Cheshire is fortunate to be located in central Connecticut. There are several nearby schools to choose from, such as Post University, University of Connecticut Waterbury, Naugatuck Valley Community College, and others just a short drive from Cheshire.
Some people start by registering for a course online, some make phone calls and speak to advisors in Continuing Education, and others visit campuses to begin the fun-filled journey. People of all ages, including people in their golden years, enjoy learning and the camaraderie associated with in-person classes.
New students taking courses for fun realize that they have entered a whole new world they never knew existed and was available to them. Some continue on for a degree, while others continue on for the pure joy of learning.
