Connecticut Blades Skate To First Win On Ice

On Sunday, Amity/North Haven/Cheshire Co-Op girls’ ice hockey (1-1) earned their first win, 4-1, over host Masuk/Barlow/Newtown/Lauralton Hall/Shelton/New Milford Co-Op (1-2) at the Sports Center of Connecticut. The Connecticut Blades scored the opening four goals.

CHS freshman goalkeeper Ginny Curello made 21 saves in picking up her first victory. Cheshire junior Avery DePodesta supplied an assist.

For the home opener on Wednesday, the Connecticut Blades host Jonathan Law/Notre Dame-Fairfield/Foran/Weston/Pomperaug Co-Op (1-1) at Louis Astorino Ice Arena in Hamden. Start time is 8 p.m.

Monday’s varsity basketball schedule:

Boys (1-2)

For the home opener, the Rams host East Haven (1-1) at 6 p.m.

Girls (1-3)

Cheshire travels to play East Haven (0-4) at 6 p.m.
