Caron Wins Gold In Armory Youth Championships, CHS Swimmers Close Out Winter Season


On Saturday, Cheshire High School junior Tyler Caron won the boys’ ages 17-18 3,000-meters (10:33.03) in The Armory Youth Championships at the Armory Track & Field Center in New York. Caron also took 13th place in the 800-meters (2:18.178).

CHS placed 32nd (37 points) in the State Open final at Yale University’s Robert J.H. Kiphuth Exhibition Pool in New Haven. In the 100-yard breaststroke, senior tri-captain Silas Wang (15th, 1:00.67) and senior Kristian Adlianitski (16th, 1:00.75) finished consecutively.

Adlianitski nabbed 15th in the 100-yard freestyle (48.47).

Wang, senior Jacob Santacruz, freshman Kevin Xie, and senior tri-captain Zack Schnitzer teamed to take 24th in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:41.62).

The Rams will graduate tri-captain Alex Fang, Schnitzer, Wang, Adlianitski, Vincent Lin, and Santacruz.
