CHESHIRE – Patricia A. Wallinger, 81, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at her home. She was the wife of Arthur “Butch” Wallinger.
Mrs. Wallinger was born on August 6, 1939, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Reid) Hanlon. From the age of 9 to the age of 20, Patricia was an aspiring actress. While acting at Litchfield Summer Stock, the press called her “Broadway Bound.” She was a longtime resident of Cheshire. Pat and Butch (husband), together, side by side, owned and managed AJ Carting Company, Inc., for approximately 30 years. She loved her gardens and was a longtime member of the Cheshire Garden Club. Those who knew Pat would call her Mema, Patsy, Boss and Warden. She was strong, smart, loving, feisty, caring and beautiful.
Besides her husband of 60 years, Pat is survived by her son A.J. Wallinger and his wife Debra of Cheshire; her daughter Bonnie Wallinger and her husband John McDonald of Cheshire; and her grandchildren Jimmy and Christopher Greene, Jake, Hannah and Sam Wallinger, and Jack McDonald. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her brother Edward Hanlon.
Arrangements – Calling hours were held on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, March 1, 2021, with her funeral procession leaving the funeral home at 9:30 and proceeding to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at St. Bridget Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
