The Cheshire Nursery and Garden Center served as the venue on March 3 for The Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, Inc., to recognize their immediate former President Inge Venus with a Life Membership from the National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Venus has been a member of The Federation for over 35 years and held many Board positions, including 12 years as Parliamentarian. She has worked with many of the Connecticut garden clubs that are members of the Federation and seen to it that they are recognized for the community work they are involved in. Her main concern is conservation and care for the environment.
In the photo above, Venus (second from right) is presented with the National Certificate and pin by current Federation president Arlene Field (center), joined by current First Vice-President Polly Brooks (far right), who will be installed as the Federation’s president in April, Treasurer Shirley Hall (far left), and Second Vice-President Karin Pyskaty (second from left).
The Cheshire Nursery Greenhouse was the perfect venue for this auspicious occasion.
