Lelia (Lee) B. Daubert , 92, passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s on Thursday, August 7, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Cheshire. She was the wife of Irvin R. Daubert. Lee was born on May 30, 1922 in Bridgeport, Conn., the daughter of the late Leslie and Lelia (Esten) Bishop. A longtime resident of Cheshire, Lee worked in the Selectmen’s Office for the Town of Cheshire in the late ’50s and ’60s. In 1970, she and her husband moved to Eastham, Mass., where she worked as the Assistant Tax Collector for the Town of Eastham. She was an avid knitter and gardener, loved all animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed walks on the beach.
Besides her husband of 70 years, Lee is survived by her children, Leslie West and her husband Robert of Cheshire, Mark (Abby) of Southbury, and Holly Howland of Yarmouth Port, Mass.; and her grandsons, Justin, Mark, Jeffrey and David.
Reflections about Lee will be presented on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the 10:30 a.m. worship service at Pilgrim Church, 65 East Grand Ave., New Haven, Conn. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family and there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
