The Cheshire Town Council approved the contract with Arizon Structures on Tuesday night that should pave the way for the company to begin work on a tension membrane cover to be installed over the Cheshire Community Pool.
The contract was approved by a 6-2 vote, with Republican Councilor James Sima and Democratic Councilor Liz Linehan voting against the measure. The Public Building Commission had recommended Arizon after a deal with Signature Structures fell through earlier in the summer.
No timeline has been set as to when the cover will be completed, however officials indicated last month that the tension membrane may not be installed until the spring of 2015.
