Last Saturday, Cheshire American Legion Senior baseball (33-13) ended the program's best season in the Northeast Regional Tournament at Palmer Field. Cheshire rallied from a 2-0 deficit to lead host Middletown 4-2, but their Zone 3 Division rival scored five runs in the eighth inning. Middletown's Nick Roy capped the comeback with a three-run triple.
Dan Schock posted three singles, two RBIs, a sacrifice fly, and a hit by pitch. Ryan Pierpont (walk) and Matt Hickey singled twice and scored a run. Jon Koski had two walks and runs scored, also contributing a single and a stolen base.
Joey Anderson tied the game 2-2 with a two-run double in the fourth inning. Mike Purcell and Jay Schaff drew walks.
PJ Watson (six hits, three strikeouts, walk) pitched into the eighth before being relieved by Christian Colp (triple, two walks, strikeout).
