The Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Chamber member Bovano of Cheshire are hosting the first annual Family Fun Weekend this weekend.
The Chamber is sponsoring the Cheshire Carnival to be held at Bartlem Park, today, from 2 to 10 p.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy rides and food. Admission and parking are free at Bartlem Park and across the street at Cheshire High School.
Bovanofest, an arts festival with 30 vendors, will also be taking place today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 830 South Main St. Admission and parking will be free. Attendees will view fine art (jewelry, photographs, drawings, prints and paintings) from numerous Cheshire artists and artists from other towns and states. Radio station WATR will be broadcasting from Bovanofest from noon to 4 p.m.
Other venues that are participating and will be open throughout the weekend include the Lock 12 Museum, from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, and the Cheshire Historical Society, 43 Church Dr., and its Boutique in the Shed, from 2 to 4 p.m., also on Sunday.
Two smaller museums that will be open are the Museum Of Now And Then (MONAT) in the office of the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, 195 South Main St. The new exhibit features artworks created by Bovano of Cheshire. Visitors to MONAT are always welcome during normal business hours from Monday through Friday. The debut of what may be the world's first and only entire museum in a bottle will occur at Bovanofest with the unveiling of THOG, The History Of Glass Museum.
