The Cheshire Birth to Three Program is a certified provider for the Connecticut state and federally funded Birth to Three System that provides services for families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays. To become eligible for services, a child must meet certain state requirements. Evaluations, that take place in the home and throughout the year, can be requested by calling 1-800-505-7000. If there are any concerns about your child’s development, feel free to call and request an evaluation.
The Birth to Three Staff (speech, occupational and physical therapists as well as teachers) also provides a drop- in Parent Center on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m., at Darcey School, from September - June. This is a place to play with your child, meet other Cheshire families and ask professionals any questions you may have about your child’s development.

Early Intervention Center:
The Stephen August Early Intervention Center (EIC) is a preschool that promotes the development of the whole child through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. The curriculum is aligned with the Connecticut Early Learning Standards. Each classroom is taught by a certified teacher with two instructional assistants and is designed to meet the needs of preschoolers 3-5 years old including those with indentified learning needs.

The Darcey Staff also provides a drop in Parent Center for families and their children, from Birth to 5 years old, on Fridays from 9:30-10:30 am and 1-2 pm. This is place for to you to play with your child, meet other Cheshire families and ask professionals any questions you may have about your child’s development.
