Cheshire Flames Red 10-U softball posted a 6-0 record to win the Babe Ruth State Tournament (July 11-13) played at Bartlem Park and Cheshire High School. The girls outlasted Newtown 6-5 to take the title. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ella Watson earned a two-out, two-strike hit to clinch the victory.
Flames White (0-5) also participated among nine teams in the event.
