Cheshire American Legion Senior Baseball Shuts Out Middletown, Wins Third Straight Division Crown

Cheshire American Legion Senior baseball (24-9, 20-8 in Zone 3) beat Middletown (20-8) 1-0 in Friday's regular season finale at Cheshire High School. Since they won the tiebreaker, Cheshire secures a record-setting third straight division title. Pitcher Jon Koski allowed two hits and four walks in a complete game shutout. He recorded eight strikeouts.
Cheshire put up the only run in the third inning. Joey Anderson walked and came around to score on a wild pitch. Mike Purcell and Adam vonFischer had singles.
The team moves on to the state tournament. They host a best two out of three series, starting next Wednesday at CHS.
