Man Killed Off Mount Sanford Road

July 15, 2014 by michael torelli

A pedestrian was killed Monday afternoon after being hit by a car on Mount Sanford Road, police have confirmed.
Cheshire resident Benjamin Feinn, 75, was found lying dead in the street after being struck by a commercial vehicle, according to the Cheshire Police Department.
George Matar of Milford, 54, was driving the motor vehicle. Matar sustained no injuries.
Police received a call that a man, later identified as Feinn, had been hit at about 2 p.m., and responders quickly shut down the roadway from the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail crossing to the South Brooksvale Road intersection.
A preliminary investigation indicates that Matar was traveling southbound on Mount Sanford Road when his vehicle struck Feinn, who was also traveling southbound at the time. The case is still under investigation, but police do not believe that speed was a factor.
