On Tuesday, Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (seventh seed, 15-6) lost a five-game win streak in a 12-6 loss to Darien (third, 20-2) through the Class L semifinals at West Haven.
Cheshire tied Darien 4-4 after trailing 4-3 at halftime. A yellow card helped the Blue Wave post a 4-0 run (8-4) and they didn't trail again. Senior Emma Farrel assisted four of classmate Maddy Levy's five goals. Senior Olivia Larson added a goal. Junior goalkeeper Alexa Carbone had nine saves.
Darien senior Hollis Perticone posted four of her five goals in the second half and added an assist.
Michelle Federico (captain), Levy (captain), Danielle Bellantonio, Taylor Bond, Danielle Chambrelli, Becca Day, Farrel, Larson, and Sammy Trott tied the 2013 seniors for most wins by a class (69) at CHS.
