Support Special Olympics With Some Special Tips

June 10, 2014 by Special To The ...

Please come out and join members of the Cheshire Police Department as they hold their annual Tip-A-Cop event in support of the Connecticut Special Olympics. The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in sharing gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community. This year’s Tip-A-Cop will be held at The Waverly Restaurant, 286 Maple Ave., on Friday, June 20, from 5 to 10 p.m. The event will feature live music by the band Karma, as well as great food and great drink. One hundred percent of all “tips” raised will go directly to support Special Olympics Connecticut.
