Cheshire Personnel Committee Approves New Youth Services Position

June 4, 2014 by john

The Cheshire Town Council’s Personnel Committee meeting completed some housekeeping work last night by adjusting various pay plans and making amendments to job descriptions.
The position of Youth Activities Coordinator in the Human Services Department was revamped to comply with title and reporting changes. Rather than report to the both the Director of Human Services and Director of Youth & Social Services, which have since been combined into one position, the employee will report directly to the Human Services Director and the Youth Program Supervisor.
A new position, Teen Helper, was also proposed. The new job would be part-time, working approximately 10 hours a week or less, and is designated for a high school student who has an interest in working toward a degree in social science or recreation. The Teen Helper will provide assistance at the Yellow House and related Cheshire Youth Services programs.
The proposed changes were moved to the full Town Council, which plans to hold its next meeting on June 17.
