On Monday, Cheshire High School baseball (ninth, 15-7) came back to beat Ridgefield (24th, 10-11) 12-5 in the Class LL First Round. The Tigers took advantage of four errors to go up 4-1 in the second inning, but CHS outscored them 11-1 from there
Senior Dan Schock (three hits and runs scored, four RBIs) set a personal-best two home runs in a game, breaking the school's single-season mark (eight) and tying Head Coach Bill Mrowka's career mark (11). Schock added an RBI single to put Cheshire ahead for good (5-4) in the fifth.
Senior Matt Hickey had a two-run double to tie the game 4-4 in the fourth. Junior Cooper Mrowka (walk, two runs scored) posted a pair of RBI singles. Classmate Ryan Pierpont (two walks, single, stolen base) scored three runs.
Junior Adam vonFischer (run scored) contributed two singles and an RBI. Classmate Richie Mills chipped in a two-run triple in the sixth. Junior Jay Strollo (run scored, stolen base) walked twice, while seniors Ethan Lonardelli and Wes Robertson (single) each drew a free pass and scored a run.
Senior pitcher Kyle Waldron gave up seven hits and struck out three in a complete game.

On Tuesday, CHS travels to Glastonbury (eighth, 16-5) at 3:30 p.m. Glastonbury won 6-5 over Wilton (25th, 10-11).
Softball (ninth, 16-6)
In the Class LL First Round, Cheshire shut out Hamden (25th, 10-11) 10-0. Junior pitcher Mackenzie Juodaitis (11-5) secured her first no-hitter, firing eight strikeouts. She yielded three walks and a hit by pitch.
CHS received home runs from senior Bryanna McIntosh, along with juniors Sara Como (three-run shot), Casey Harding, and Olivia Odermatt.

Cheshire hosts Fairfield Ludlowe (ninth, 16-5) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. Fairfield Ludlowe beat New Milford (24th, 10-11) 13-6.
Girls' Golf (7-11)
Junior Dana Zappone and freshman Sophia Qiu earned a 49 in the Guimares Tournament at Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange.
The Lady Rams take a three-match win streak into Tuesday's regular season finale against host Mercy at Lyman Orchards Golf Club. Start time is 3 p.m.

Cheshire visits Danbury for the Class LL Championship. Field events starts at 2:30 p.m. The track portion starts a half hour later.

CHS carries a three-game win streak into the Class L First Round against Staples (10th) at 5 p.m.
Boys' Volleyball (fourth, 17-3)
Cheshire hosts Simsbury (13th, 8-12) in the Class L First Round at 6 p.m.
