Cheshire High School softball (13-5, Housatonic Division Co-Champion at 6-2) lost 5-3 on Sunday at East Haven (15-4) to end a three-game win streak. East Haven led 3-0 and 5-1, capitalizing on three errors by CHS, to earn a split of the series.
Seniors Bryanna McIntosh (run scored, RBI) and Alexa DiLeo joined junior Andrea Russo with two hits. Junior Casey Harding hit a leadoff home run in the sixth. Classmates Maggie O'Reilly (run scored) and Sara Como added hits.
Junior pitcher Mackenzie Juodaitis (10-4) gave up five hits and struck out eight. She yielded two walks.
On Monday, CHS hosts a double-header against Career Magnet (2-15) to end the regular season. Start times are 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
