The Board of Education will meet tonight, where several issues are expected to be discussed.
One of those promises to be full-day kindergarten, as earlier this week the Cheshire Town Council voted to reallocate $255,000 from the BOE capital budget into their operating budget, specifically earmarked for the new kindergarten program.
BOE members had suggested that, without the $255,000, it would be difficult to push the initiative forward. However, with that hurdle cleared, it appears there is little standing in the way of full-day kindergarten's implementation.
Also expected to be discussed at the meeting is the Board's five-year capital budget plan, as well as approval of Peck Jones fund requests and a new cleaning contract for the school buildings.
CABE Student Leadership Awards are also scheduled to be handed out.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 84 South Main Street.
