CHS Girls' LAX And Boys' Golf Win On Thursday, Boys' Lacrosse Fall To North Haven

On Thursday, Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (8-3) earned a 15-7 win over Hamden (5-6). Cheshire took an 8-3 lead into intermission.
Seniors Emma Farrel, who tied her personal-best total for assists (four), and Olivia Larson both scored four goals. Classmate Maddy Levy contributed a hat trick and an assist. Sophomore Meghan Dutchyshyn and junior Taylor Stauffer deposited two goals, while junior Alexa Carbone recorded 11 saves in net.
Cheshire hosts South Windsor (3-6) on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Boys' Golf (6-1-1)
In extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches, Cheshire defeated host Shelton (4-3-1) 152-160 at Brownson Country Club.
Senior Ben Kaplan was the medalist (personal-best 34). Junior Chris Simione (38) and seniors Jake Ecke (39) and Tom Arisco (41) followed Kaplan.
CHS visits the Country Club of Woodbridge on Tuesday to meet host Amity (7-5) at 3 p.m. Cheshire beat them 166-167 on April 24 at The Farms Country Club.
Girls' Golf (2-7)
At the Madison Country Club, the Lady Rams (227) beat East Lyme (286) and lost against host Daniel Hand (181). Freshman Sophia Qiu (48) joined juniors Dana Zappone (54), Olivia Villecco (61), Jennie Paulsen (64), and Jill Howard (73) among the Cheshire participants.
CHS travels to the New Haven Country Club on Tuesday to play host Sacred Heart Academy at 3 p.m. SHA won 212-234 on April 23 at Southington Country Club.
Boys' Lacrosse (4-8)
Despite 20 saves from senior goalkeeper Jared Lawson, the Rams lost 17-6 against North Haven (10-1). North Haven led 7-3 at halftime. Cheshire pulled to within 7-5 and 8-6 before the Indians outscored them 5-0 in the fourth quarter.
Senior Ben Hamel supplied two goals and two assists. Cheshire received a goal and an assist from senior Alec Thomas and junior Christian Russo. Senior Matt Samuelson and junior Matt Blois netted goals.
The Rams host Andover (Mass.) on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Cheshire travels to Doolittle Park to play host Lyman Hall (3-9) at 3:45 p.m.
Baseball (9-5, 5-2 in Housatonic Division)
CHS hosts Career Magnet (9-5) at 4 p.m. The Panthers won 4-2 on April 10.
Boys' Volleyball (9-2)
Cheshire visits Shelton (8-5) at 5 p.m. CHS swept 3-0 on April 17.
Softball (9-2, 4-1)
Cheshire visits Deer Run School to face host East Haven (9-4) at 7 p.m. The Lady Rams won 3-2 on April 10.
