CHS Girls' Lacrosse Comes Back To Earn Fifth Consecutive Win, Varsity Slate For Friday

On Thursday, Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (7-1) came back to win their fifth straight 19-14 at Fairfield Ludlowe (2-5-1). Despite Cheshire leading 3-0, Fairfield Ludlowe rallied to go up 9-5 and 10-8 at halftime. CHS responded by scoring the first six goals of the second half to take the lead for good.
Senior Emma Farrel had five goals (tie for personal-best) and two assists. Cheshire received hat tricks from seniors Maddy Levy and Michelle Federico, along with sophomore Meghan Dutchyshyn (assist). Seniors Danielle Chambrelli added two goals and three assists. Classmate Danielle Bellantonio also chipped in two goals (career-high) and junior Taylor Staffer scored once.
Junior goalkeeper Alexa Carbone provided 11 saves.
The Lady Rams visit Simsbury (6-0) on Friday at 7 p.m.

Baseball (7-3, 3-1 in Housatonic Division)
The Rams carry a three-game win streak into Quigley Stadium to play host Notre Dame-West Haven (8-2). Start time is 4 p.m.
ND-WH won the April 9 opener 6-1.
Boys' Tennis (5-3)
Winners of five straight, Cheshire hosts Foran (3-5) at 3:45 p.m.
Girls' Tennis (4-4)
Cheshire visits the East Shore Athletic Complex to play host Career Magnet (3-4) at 3:45 p.m.
Boys' Volleyball (7-2)
CHS hosts Amity (2-7) at 6 p.m.
