In an effort to help Cheshire “go green,” George Noewatne, director of Public Works and Engineering, announced that the Town of Cheshire is hosting a community-wide electronics recycling event on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cheshire High School, 525 South Main St.
At the Town of Cheshire's Community Recycling Event, residents and businesses of the community may drop off their electronic recyclables. Acceptable items to recycle include: computers and peripherals, televisions/VCR/DVD, small appliances, gaming consoles, stereo equipment, office equipment, and spent batteries. Consult the Town website (www.cheshirect.org) for a more complete list of items. Fluorescent light bulbs cannot be accepted.
The event is free to residents of the Town of Cheshire. Only electronic equipment will be accepted at this event. People bringing other waste material will be turned away.
