On Monday, Cheshire High School girls' lacrosse (4-1) posted a 6-1 win at Branford (4-1). CHS took a 4-1 advantage into halftime.
Seniors Olivia Larson and Maddy Levy (assist) had two goals each. Seniors Michelle Federico and Danielle Chambrelli added goals. Classmate Daniel Bellantonio chipped in an assist.
Junior goalkeeper Alexa Carbone made eight saves. It was the least amount of goals allowed by the program since 2007.
CHS hosts Daniel Hand (4-1) on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Softball (5-1, 1-1 in Housatonic Division)
Led by three hits from senior Bryanna McIntosh (two runs scored, RBI), Cheshire earned a 7-4 victory at Sacred Heart Academy (1-4). CHS received two hits from senior Alexa DiLeo (RBI), along with juniors Sara Como (two RBIs) and Maggie O'Reilly.
Junior pitcher Mackenzie Juodaitis struck out seven batters. She yielded six hits and five walks.
The Lady Rams visit Lyman Hall (1-4, 0-2) on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.
Boys' Volleyball (5-0)
The Rams, who haven't dropped a game this spring, won 3-0 at Lewis Mills (1-1). Senior Trent Hager distributed 17 assists and served two aces. Classmates Ted Li (nine kills, career-high four aces) and Colin Haensel (seven kills, three blocks) also contributed to the victory.
On Wednesday, Cheshire hosts Newington (5-0) at 6 p.m.
Boys' Golf (2-1)
At The Farms Country Club, Cheshire beat Hamden 160-187. Junior Chris Simione shot 35 to take medalist. Seniors Jake Ecke (39), Ben Kaplan (42), and Tom Arisco (44) followed him.
CHS hosts Daniel Hand on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
Baseball (4-3, 2-1)
CHS had secured four straight wins before falling 2-1 against Lyman Hall (3-4, 1-1). Lyman Hall added runs in the third and fifth innings to rally for the road win. In the second winning, junior Cooper Mrowka came home (1-0) on a double from classmate Adam vonFischer.
In six innings, vonFischer struck out five. He gave up six hits and two walks. Senior Kyle Waldron (two strikeouts) pitched the seventh.
The Rams travel to Sheehan (5-2, 2-0) on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Girls' Tennis (3-2)
Cheshire took a 5-2 loss at North Haven (3-2). In doubles, senior sisters Christy and Katie Freitag (6-3, 6-3) and senior Ashley Tartaglia and Sidney Tomko (6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5)) were victorious. Tartaglia and Tomko are unbeaten in the second spot.
