PZC Could Make Decision On Pool Tonight

March 10, 2014 by Special To The ...

The Planning and Zoning Commission is expected to make a decision tonight on a request by the town to approve a zone text change that would allow the proposed covering for the Cheshire Community Pool to exceed existing height requirements.
The issue was forwarded to the PZC earlier this year when it was discovered that the height of the planned tension membrane, which will provide the pool with a permanent year-round structure, could rise to over 50 feet. The limit for structures built in the Bartlem Park area is 40 feet.
It is widely expected the PZC will pass the text change request. The Town will have return to the PZC and present final plans for the tension membrane.
The PZC meeting will be held tonight at Cheshire Town Hall, 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber.
