Clara Barton and Elizabeth Blackwell—those women in the history books? Jane, the woman up the street who is a doctor? Your sister Ann who is a nurse? So much a part of our lives yet so often taken for granted, local women in health care are too numerous for us to recognize individually. Yet who among us is not eternally grateful to one or more of them for inspiration or special efforts on our behalf?
On Wednesday, March 19 at 7 p.m., the Cheshire Wallingford League of Women Voters will celebrate women in health care by sponsoring a panel of local women, including Vicki Ehrlich, MD, Sally Schrumm, APRN, and Cindy Russo, Vice President of Operations at MidState. They will share some of their experiences with us, commenting on the way we were, the way we are and where we are going in health care.
This is meeting is open to the public! Attend between 6:30 and 7 p.m. for socializing and coffee followed by an informal, but sure to be interesting, evening at the Cheshire Town Hall Council Chambers.
