The Cheshire Women’s Club will award three scholarships this year. The first is the Jane Richards Educational Scholarship given by the Cheshire Women's Club in the amount of $1,000. The second is the Josephine Banach Scholarship sponsored by the Banach family and the Cheshire Women's Club. Both of these scholarships will be awarded to Cheshire High School seniors who will be furthering their education in the education field. Application forms may be obtained at the Cheshire High School Guidance Office. In addition to completing the application form, the applicant must write as essay stating his/her goals and how he/she hopes to attain them, and include extracurricular and community involvement, one letter of recommendation, transcripts and any additional information that the applicant would like the scholarship committee to consider.
The third scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded to an adult female who has decided to go back to school or continue her education and who is enrolled in an accredited college, university, or nursing, business, technical or vocational school. She must be a resident of Cheshire. Past scholarship applicants may reapply this year. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of motivation, academic performances, recommendations and financial needs.
