On Thursday, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (10-4, 5-0 in Housatonic Division) needed a furious comeback to earn their fifth straight victory 76-68 at Wilby (10-4). CHS faced deficits of 22-5 to end the first quarter and 45-27 at intermission. They answered by scoring 26 of the 31 points in the third quarter.
Junior Andrew Yamin recorded 32 points (career-high), 24 in the second half. Senior Collin Jordan scored 19 points. Classmate Reid Duglenski had 11, including three three-pointers.
CHS hosts Amity (5-10, 3-3) on Friday at 7 p.m. Cheshire earned a 61-33 win on Jan. 10. The rematch is Senior Night for captains Collin Jordan and Tyler Post, along Tom Arisco, Mark Dietrich, Reid Duglenski, Pedro Pena, and Jon Rizzo. Cheerleading captains Jess D'Andrea, Moira Duglenski, and Samantha Welch will also join Morgan Worthy in the pre-game ceremony.
Students wearing red will receive admission for $1.
Winners of seven straight, Cheshire defeated host Fairfield Prep 32-30 at Fairfield University. Senior Jake Cervero (138 pounds) and freshman Sean Black (106) collected pins. Seniors Lucas Swan (132, 6-0), Karl Jacobs (145, 5-1), Gabe Vega (170, 13-2), along with sophomores Owen Brown (113, 7-2), Darren Barile (120, 5-2), and Matt Robidoux (160, 2-1), added decisions.
The Rams wrestle Glastonbury, Simsbury, and host Guilford on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Amity/North Haven/Cheshire Co-Op visits Hamden (7-6) at 3:30 p.m. Hamden was victorious 5-0 on Jan. 24 at The Rinks at Shelton.
Girls' Basketball (10-7, 3-3)
The Lady Rams visit Amity (15-1, 6-0) at 7 p.m. Amity won 60-54 on Jan. 10.
