On Wednesday, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (5-4, 3-0 in Housatonic Division) came up short 61-47 against Hillhouse (8-2). The defending Class LL Champions, the Academics rallied from a 25-23 halftime deficit. Hillhouse made 24 of 28 foul shots, while CHS sank seven for 17.
Junior Andrew Yamin led Cheshire with 14 points (12 in second quarter), while senior Collin Jordan scored 10 and made three steals. Seniors Reid Duglenski, Tyler Post (two blocks), and Jon Rizzo netted five points. Sophomore Dylan D'Addio had four points. Sophomore Heath Post (two points) added seven rebounds and three blocks. Junior Justin Frazier produced two points.
Hillhouse was paced by senior Raiquan Clark, who had 21 points and drained 15 of 15 free throws.
The Rams look to end a three-game slide when visiting Foran (4-7) on Friday at 7 p.m. On Dec. 20, Cheshire beat them 74-38 in the home opener.
CHS travels to Jonathan Law on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
