Cheshire Basketball Sweeps Action, Varsity Slate For Saturday

On Friday, Cheshire High School boys' basketball (1-1) picked up their first win 74-38 against Foran (0-2). Cheshire had a 44-16 advantage at halftime. Senior Reid Duglenski had 19 points (personal-best) in the home opener. Coming off the bench, sophomores Dylan D'Addio (18 points, five rebounds) and Heath Post (11 points, eight rebounds, five blocks) had their best numbers on varsity. Seniors Collin Jordan (six points) and Jon Rizzo (four rebounds) made three steals. Senior Tyler Post and junior Andrew Yamin scored four points. Junior Brody Griffin netted his first three-pointer. Senior Pedro Pena added a basket. Senior Mark Dietrich recorded six rebounds (personal-best).
CHS hosts Southington next Friday at 7 p.m.

Girls' Basketball (4-0)
Cheshire remained unbeaten with a 52-33 win at West Haven (0-4). CHS went into halftime with a 25-14 lead.
Juniors Sara Como (career-high 13 rebounds) and Jill Howard produced 15 and 13 points, respectively. It was a personal-best for Howard. Senior Missy Bailey netted seven and classmate Lily Dolyak added six. Cheshire received four points from classmate Bryanna McIntosh and three from junior Kelly Glatt. Junior Kya O'Donnell and sophomore Ciara Haensel added two points.
The Lady Rams return to action next Friday in the Berlin Holiday Tournament, facing East Lyme at 5 p.m.

Wrestling (0-1)
Cheshire travels for the Fairfield Ludlowe Tournament at 9:30 a.m.

The Rams face host East Catholic (1-0) at Champions Skating Center in Cromwell. Start time is 5 p.m.

CHS visits Dorothy Hamil Skating Rink to meet host Greenwich (0-1) at 6:45 p.m.
