On Monday, Cheshire High School senior Michelle Federico was announced as a Harrow Sports/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American First Team member. Sixteen girls were selected from around the nation.
Federico also received the following honors for the second straight year: All-Southern New England Region, New Haven Register All-Area MVP, All-Southern Connecticut Conference First Team, SCC Most Outstanding Performer, and CHS MVP. She additionally garnered Connecticut High School Coaches Association and SCC Player of the Year, along with Class L final MVP this year. She shared Cheshire's P.L.A.Y.E.R. Award with fellow senior captain Olivia Larson.
Federico will play next year at Quinnipiac University, the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champion.
