Cheshire United Methodist Church's annual "Road to Bethlehem" event has become one of the more anticipated activities of the Christmas season. However, because of the expected snow storm predicted for Saturday evening, United Methodist has decided to cancel the event for this year.
Snow is expected to begin Saturday morning, however forecasters are stating that it will remain relatively light throughout most of the afternoon. Heavier snow is predicted for early evening through the night, with precipitation coming to an end early Sunday morning.
"Road to Bethlehem" was scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., right around the time forecasts are predicting the heaviest snow to arrive.
Members of United Methodist are asking that people still consider donating to the Cheshire Food Pantry, located at 51 Railroad Ave, and make cash donations to help Cheshire Human Services Department.
