Cheshire High School girls' basketball came back from a 28-24 deficit at halftime to beat Daniel Hand 48-41 in Wednesday's opener. Senior point guard Missy Bailey contributed 12 points in both halves to finish with 24 (game-high). She had four three-pointers in the first half.
Senior Bryanna McIntosh (five points, three steals) and junior Sara Como (nine points) had six rebounds. Senior Lily Dolyak scored five points. Junior Jill Howard supplied four points, five rebounds, and six blocks (personal-best). Junior Kya O'Donnell made a free throw.
Lauren Brandan had 10 points for Hand. Lilly Taylor added nine.
Cheshire visits Hamden on Friday at 7 p.m.
