The Board of Education meets tonight and on the agenda is full-day kindergarten.
Members are expected to decide tonight whether or not to approve a plan that would change Cheshire's current half-day kindergarten curriculum to a full-day one. Several members of the BOE have expressed support for the initiative, insisting that Cheshire students could be left behind if the move is not made.
Cheshire is currently one of only 36 school districts in Connecticut not offering full-day.
The meeting is scheduled to be held tonight, 7:30 p.m., in the Cheshire High School library. CHS is located at 525 South Main St. All members of the public are invited to attend.
