Cheshire Field Hockey To Meet Fairfield Warde In Class L Quarter, Football To Host Amity And Honor Veterans

Cheshire High School field hockey (second seed, 18-2) carries an eight-game win streak into Friday's Class L quarterfinal against Fairfield Warde (10th, 9-5-2-1) at 2 p.m. It will be the last home game for seniors Michelle Federico (captain), Olivia Larson (captain), Danielle Bellantonio, Emma Farrel, Maddy Levy, Allie Rosadino, Ashley Tartaglia, and Sammy Trott (manager).
On Wednesday, CHS scored three goals in the second half to beat Fairfield Ludlowe (18th, 7-9-1-1) 3-0 in the first round. Fairfield Warde upset host Norwich Free Academy (10-4-0-3) 4-0.
Football (3-5)
Following field hockey, the Rams hosts Amity (4-4) at 7 p.m. CHS will recognize veterans with free admission to the game. Vets will be welcomed onto the field before kick-off. The marching band will play patriotic songs. Players on Cheshire and Amity will wear the name of a veteran on their jerseys, too!
