The town-wide PTA hosted a BOE Candidates Forum at the Cheshire High School Commons to provide potential members the opportunity to express their views on pressing issues in Cheshire's school district.
Of the members, Republican incumbents Sandra Pavano and Anthony Perugini debated to reclaim their seats alongside newcomer Adam Grippo. The Democratic party offered longtime Cheshire Police Officer Mark Ecke and Corporate Business Attorney Kathryn Fabiani.
Candidates were required to answer questions pertaining to the implementation of full-day kindergarten, school security, the BOE budget, and if homework is detrimental to a student's health.
"Cheshire has never been one to keep up with the Joneses," Perugini said, during his argument for full-day kindergarten. "Rather, we tend to lead the pack."
