Harrington To Discuss Book, Writing Around Town As Part Of Cheshire Reads Event

On Thursday, Nov. 7 the community will have an opportunity to celebrate reading. Welcome award winning author, Laura Harrington to the Cheshire Public Library. Laura’s book, Alice Bliss, is the 2013 Cheshire Reads One Book One Town selection. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature an appearance by the author. After the talk, the author will be available to sign copies of her book and light refreshments will be served. The Cheshire Public Library is located at 104 Main Street. Laura Harrington is an award-winning playwright, lyricist and librettist. She teaches playwriting at MIT. Alice Bliss, her first novel, grew out of Harrington’s one-woman musical, Alice Unwrapped, which ran off-Broadway in New York and in the Minneapolis Fringe Festival in 2009. Alice Bliss is the winner of the 2012 Massachusetts Book Award for fiction.
In addition to the presentation at the Cheshire Public Library, Laura Harrington will also be visiting Cheshire High School and Cheshire Academy to speak with students of each school about writing.
