Cheshire High School field hockey (14-2) made more history on Wednesday. By winning 4-0 at Guilford (10-4-1, 8-2), Cheshire won their third consecutive Southern Connecticut Conference regular season title (10-0) and earned the top seed for the tournament that kicks off with Saturday's quarterfinal at Alumni Field. The three-peat ties the SCC record held by Branford (1998-2000).
Cheshire swept the series with Guilford to end the regular season with four wins in a row. Seniors Emma Farrel, Danielle Bellantonio, and Olivia Larson all had a goal and an assist. Senior Michelle Federico opened the scoring. Senior goalkeeper Maddy Levy (10 saves) collected her fourth consecutive shutout (eight overall).
Guilford sophomore goalkeeper Brooke Misbach added 12 saves.
Girls' Soccer (13-3, two-time defending Housatonic Division Champion at 7-1)
The Lady Rams closed the regular season with nine straight wins, beating Guilford (14-2) 2-1 on Senior Night. CHS is the only team to defeat the Indians.
Junior Hannah Bonitz scored the first goal from classmate Alexandra Pelletier. Guilford junior Julia Carr tied the score before halftime. Senior Ali Lamberti, a senior captain with Lily Dolyak, had the game-winner with 9:08 remaining. Lamberti recorded her goal off a corner kick by classmate Erin Albrecht. Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Riccio made four saves.
The captains were joined by Albrecht, Leah Chamberlin, Anna Wu, Kristin Cabrera (manager), and Natalie Reynolds (manager) in the senior festivities.
Cheshire is seeded fourth for the SCC Tournament, hosting division rival Amity (fifth) in Saturday's quarterfinal at 5 p.m. After losing the first meeting 5-0 on Sept. 25 in Woodbridge, CHS returned home to defeat the Spartans 1-0 on Oct. 11.

Girls' Volleyball (19-0, six-time defending Housatonic Champion at 8-0)
Cheshire earned their second sweep of East Haven (4-16) 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-21). Junior Jillian Haberli (two digs) and senior Eva Whelan (five aces) had 10 and four kills, respectively.
Cheshire competes for an undefeated regular season on Thursday, hosting Branford (13-6) at 6:30 p.m. Eryn Dorsey (captain), Becca Ligi (captain), Phoebe Carmichael, Kathleen Hastie, Laura Heynen, Eva Whelan, and Melanie Clarke (manager) will have Senior Night. Cheshire won 3-0 on Oct. 2 in Branford.
Boys' Soccer (4-10-2, 3-4-1)
In the season finale, Cheshire lost 3-0 at Branford (11-4-1). The Hornets won both meetings. Senior Joe Noel posted two saves in goal and junior Matt Skydel supplied one. Branford collected all three goals in the second, two from John Pottenger and another from classmate Joe Roca.
Graduating seniors include: Bryan Carter (captain), Colin Haensel (captain), Joe Phillips (captain), Griffen Andes, Tyler Bailey, DJ Frione, Joe Noel, Rohan Roy, Yuriy Tsapar, and Matt Weimer.
