CHS Boys' Soccer Gains Redemption On Senior Night

Cheshire High School boys' soccer (4-8-2, 3-4-1 in Housatonic Division) beat Shelton (8-3-3, 4-3-1) 1-0 to split series in division finale. Five minutes and 14 seconds into the game, senior Joe Phillips tallied the lone goal. He was assisted by classmate Bryan Carter. Senior goalkeeper Joe Noel had two saves in his first start and junior Matt Skydel (career-best 13 saves) followed him.
Colin Haensel captains the team with Carter and Phillips. Griffen Andes, Tyler Bailey, DJ Frione, Joe Noel, Rohan Roy, Yuriy Tsapar, and Matt Weimer joined them on Senior Night.
CHS hosts Xavier (11-0-3) in Monday's final regular season home game at 6 p.m. They tied 0-0 on Sept. 17 in Portland.
