CHS Field Hockey Ties School Record On Senior Night, V-Ball Stays Unbeaten

Cheshire High School field hockey improved to 12-2, beating Sacred Heart Academy (4-7-1) 6-0 in the final regular season home game. CHS had a 4-0 at halftime. Captains Michelle Federico (goal, assist) and Olivia Larson (assist), Danielle Bellantonio (goal), Emma Farrel (goal, assist), goalkeeper Maddy Levy (two saves; sixth shutout), Allie Rosadino (goal), Ashley Tartaglia (goal), and manager Sammy Trott tied the school record for wins (66; 1984-87) by a single class. The senior class is now 66-12-1-1.
Junior Erica Stauffer also scored the fourth goal against the Pacers.
The Lady Rams visit Hamden (7-5-1) on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Girls' Volleyball (16-0, 7-0 in Housatonic Division)
For the second time, Cheshire beat Foran (9-6) 3-1. Set scores: 25-22, 25-13, 20-25, 25-10. Senior Becca Ligi posted 12 kills (personal-best) and six digs, while classmate Phoebe Carmichael supplied 10 digs (career-high). Juniors Sarah Rodgers (29 assists) and Maria Buzzelli (13 digs, two service aces) also contributed to the win.
CHS visits Amity on Friday to end the Housatonic schedule. Cheshire has already secured a sixth straight title (Housatonic record). The Rams defeated Amity 3-1 on Sept. 30.
Cross Country
Cheshire visits Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison for Thursday's Southern Connecticut Conference Championship. The schedule is below:
Boys: freshman (1 p.m.), varsity (3 p.m.), junior varsity (4:20 p.m.)
Girls: varsity (1:40 p.m.) freshman (2:20 p.m.), jv (3:40 p.m.)
