The public hearing for a drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts, proposed for 901 West Main Street, has been postponed until Oct. 28.
The applicant suggested to delay the hearing to address comments made by the Cheshire Fire Department. Fire Chief Jack Casner and Deputy Fire Marshal Mike Kozlowski raised concerns about the drive-thru exit, which will direct cars toward the fuel dispensers.
"This site will be the only one of its kind in Cheshire (store, drive-thru, fuel dispensing)," Casner wrote, in a letter to the Planning and Zoning Department. "With all of these functions taking place simultaneously, operation procedures and work practices may need to be addressed/modified when/if the approval is granted and the site is under construction."
