Cheshire High School field hockey improved to 11-2 on Columbus Day, posting a 7-0 shutout at North Haven. CHS had a 5-0 halftime lead. Senior Emma Farrel scored twice in the first half to break the school's career point record (115; 70 goals, 45 assists) set by Wendi Kemp (113; 1978-81).
Senior Olivia Larson had two assists. Juniors Emma Gaudio, Mikayla Crieger, Natalie Bigler (first varsity point), Kya O'Donnell, and freshman Alyssa Stevens (first varsity assist) converted goals. Freshman Sarah Pierpont secured her first varsity point (assist). Senior goalkeeper Maddy Levy (seven saves) earned the shutout, her fifth of the year.
Cheshire will honor eight seniors in Wednesday's final regular season home game against Sacred Heart Academy (4-6-1) at 7 p.m.
Girls' Volleyball (15-0, 7-0 in Housatonic Division)
For the second time, CHS swept Sheehan (8-7, 1-5) 3-0 (25-15, 25-7, 25-12). The victory clinched a sixth straight division title, a Housatonic record, outright. Junior Jillian Haberli had six aces (career-best), nine kills, and four digs. Senior Laura Heynen (eight assists, three kills, two digs) and junior Sarah Rodgers (17 assists, three digs) both served two aces. Senior Eva Whalen (two blocks, ace, assist) and junior Jill Howard (three blocks) each recorded seven kills.

The Lady Rams host Foran (9-4) on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Cheshire won 3-0 on Sept. 26.

Boys' Soccer (3-8-1, 2-4 in Housatonic Division)
The Rams visit Sheehan (5-3-3, 2-3-1) at 3:45 p.m. Sheehan won 2-1 on Sept. 28.
Girls' Soccer (9-3, 6-1)
CHS carries a five-game win streak against Daniel Hand (5-1-6) at 6 p.m. Cheshire lost 3-1 on Sept. 28.
Girls' Swim And Dive (7-0)
The Lady Rams host Branford (7-0) at the Hamden Hall's Beckerman Athletic Center. Start time is 7 p.m.
