Cheshire Girls' Volleyball Holds Off Amity

Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (9-0; 4-0 in Housatonic Division) came back to beat Amity (7-2; 2-2) 3-1 on Monday. Game scores: 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-22. Junior Sarah Rodgers had 41 assists, five digs, and three aces. Senior Laura Heynen had her best totals for kills (12) and digs (eight). She added four aces. Junior Jillian Haberli matched her best total in kills (17), adding three digs. Senior Eva Whalen supplied career-bests in kills (eight) and blocks (four). She had two aces and digs. Junior Maria Buzzelli posted 21 digs.

Cheshire hosts Branford on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Cheshire carries a three-game win streak into their game with Mercy (0-8) at 3:45 p.m.
Cross Country (Boys, 6-0; Girls, 5-1)
On Senior Day, Cheshire hosts Branford at Cheshire Park. The final home dual meet starts at 4 p.m.
