The Cheshire Lions Club will host its annual Sight Saver Day on Sunday, Oct. 6 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Everybody’s Market and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cheshire Stop & Shop. Cheshire Lions will collect donations to support the Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation (“CLERF”) and the Cheshire Lions Club. CLERF provides financial support to Yale University’s Department of Opthalmology and Visual Science and the University of Connecticut Medical Center in researching and treating s eye diseases, including macular degeneration and glaucoma. Funds to the Cheshire Lions Club help support its projects and events throughout the year benefiting the Cheshire community.
Cheshire Lions will also collect used eye glasses at these sites which will be donated to people living in underdeveloped countries who do not have eye care.
