CHS Girls' V-Ball Extends Sweep Streak, Girls' Soccer Falls In Woodbridge

Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (7-0; 3-0 in Housatonic Division) has swept their last six matches. On Thursday, the Lady Rams won 3-0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-8) on Thursday at Sheehan (3-4; 0-2). Senior Laura Heynen posted 10 service aces (personal-best). She also recorded five assists, three blocks, and two kills. Junior Maria Buzzelli added four aces and seven digs. Junior Jillian Haberli (13 kills, two digs) and senior Eva Whalen (five kills, two blocks) were top hitters.
CHS had 20 aces overall (season-high). Cheshire visits Foran on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Girls' Soccer (4-2; 2-1)
Cheshire lost their first Housatonic game 5-0 at Amity (4-1-1; 2-0). Amity scored all of their goals in the second half. Senior Cassie Giza had a hat trick.
Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Riccio added three saves for Cheshire. Junior Zoie Reed had five for Amity.
The Lady Rams visit Daniel Hand on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Boys' Soccer (1-3-1; 1-1)
Cheshire hosts Guilford (3-0-2) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
