PZC Tables Decision On Dunkin' Donuts Drive Thru

September 24, 2013 by John Rook

Those interested in the outcome of a plan to develop a drive thru Dunkin' Donuts at a gas station off West Main Street will have to wait a while longer.
The Planning and Zoning Commission was expected to vote on the application, which allow for the drive thru to be built at the Shell Station location along West Main Street, Monday evening. However, changes to the interior layout of the Dunkin' Donuts was received from the applicant Monday morning, and Commission members stated that they did not have enough time to properly review the new plan. The matter was tabled until next month.
The drive thru has garnered interest because some question whether adding a Dunkin' Donuts to a gas station located on one of the busiest stretches of road in Cheshire will add to already existing traffic concerns. Representatives for Dunkin' Donuts have insisted that their studies show now dramatic increase in traffic will result from the drive thru being built.
