In Friday's Housatonic Division opener, Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (5-0) earned a 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-23, 25-17) at Shelton (3-1). Senior Laura Heynen (career-high six service aces), along with juniors Jillian Haberli (13 kills), Maria Buzzelli (14 digs), and Sarah Rodgers (18 assists, five aces), were leaders in the road win.
Cheshire hosts Lyman Hall on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
Girls' Soccer (3-1; 1-0)
Cheshire beat host Sheehan (1-1-1; 0-1) to start the Housatonic slate. CHS took a 3-0 edge into halftime. Seniors Leah Chamberlin and Lily Dolyak, along with juniors Alexandra Pelletier and Kacey Conlon, had goals. Junior Erin Albrecht chipped in two assists, while junior Hannah Perez and sophomore Alyssa Addesso added one. Conlon and Addesso got their first goal and point, respectively.
Freshman goalkeeper Zoe Riccio had six saves. CHS returns home to face Lyman Hall (0-3) on Monday at 6 p.m.
