CHS Girls' Volleyball Improves To 3-0, Teams Prepare For Tuesday Action

Cheshire High School girls' volleyball (3-0) earned a 3-0 road win (25-12, 31-29, 25-21) at Mercy (2-1). Juniors Jillian Haberli (career-best 12 kills; four digs), Maria Buzzelli (16 digs), and Sarah Rodgers (17 assists, three digs and aces) factored into the victory. Senior newcomer Laura Heynen had five kills, four assists, and two digs.
CHS plays North Haven in Wednesday's home opener at 6:30 p.m.
Tuesday's varsity schedule:
Boys' Soccer (0-2)
At Oakwood Soccer Club in Portland, the Rams aim for their first win against host Xavier (1-0-1). Start time is 3:45 p.m.
Cross Country
Cheshire starts the dual-meet schedule against Hamden and Lyman Hall in the home opener at Cheshire Park. Boys also face Xavier, while girls run against Mercy. Start time is 4 p.m.
Girls' Soccer (2-0)
CHS hosts Sacred Heart Academy (1-0-1) at 6 p.m.
Field Hockey (2-0)
The Lady Rams visit Daniel Hand (2-0) at 7 p.m. It is a rematch of the 2012 Southern Connecticut Conference final won 1-0 by Cheshire. CHS has won 32 straight SCC games.
