August 26, 2013 by Special To The ...

The following was released by the Cheshire Police Department in anticipation of classes resuming at Cheshire schools this week:

The Cheshire Police Department wishes to remind motorists that school will be back in session on Thursday August 29, 2013.
With the start of school comes additional traffic on Rt 10 specifically in the area of the high school. We ask that you plan your travels with a little extra time in mind.
Police officers will be conducting speed enforcement in school zones. We ask that motorists obey the speed limits to help keep our children safe. Officers will be patrolling in marked and unmarked cars looking for drivers who fail to stop for school busses. The fine for passing a stopped school bus is $485.
Please remember to drive safely, wear your seatbelt and don’t text and drive.
