Women's Club To Honor Hostages

At their July meeting, the members of the Cheshire Democratic Women’s Club voted unanimously to present the club’s Civic Pride Award to Joy and Arthur Hostage of Cheshire. The award will be presented on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Cheshire Senior Center, 240 Maple Ave., at the club’s Viennese Night celebration.
Joy and Arthur Hostage have lived in Cheshire since 1952 and have served in numerous elected and volunteer positions. Joy served on the Town Council for many years, as well as the board of the Cheshire Public Library and State Library Board. Joy is also an active League of Women Voters member. Art has served on the Economic Development Commission and was also Town Historian.
Tickets to the Viennese Night celebration honoring the Hostages are $25 per person. More information is available at
