In the Southern Division Final Four, Cheshire American Legion baseball (30-4) came back to beat Waterbury in 10 innings at Cubeta Stadium in Stamford. Dan Schock walked and scored the walk-off run on a sacrifice fly from Tim Budd with the bases loaded.
Waterbury scored in the second inning, but Cheshire added two runs in the seventh. Parker Barnell (two hits) and Jay Schaff (two hits, RBI) scored. Kevin Mirando (two hits, walk) had an RBI single.
With Cheshire trailing 4-2 in the eighth inning, Schock hit a two-run home run in the eighth. Wes Robertson (two walks) scored on the play.
Ryan Manning (five walks and strikeouts, three hits) pitched the first five innings. Barnell (six hits, five strikeouts) worked the remainder of the game and picked up the win.
Cheshire returns for a rematch with Branford on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Branford won 8-0 on Sunday.
